Drunk Driving

Art Teacher: Since you're not satisfied with your "Battleship" photograph, I want you to go home and redo it for Monday.

Me: Ok, np. [gets home] Where did I leave my battleship? [searches house all day, finds nothing] Oh, crap.

Thus Conceptual Photograph #2 was born. and I spent Friday and this afternoon trying to replicate the battleship photo without the battleship. We found a bunch of toy cars and decided to make the water into alcohol by using... alcohol. It only took what, 80 shots before I found one that I was happy with? And I knew as soon as I had taken the photo that this one would be the one I kept. I'm proud of this one, I think I did good. It'll be fun to hear what my art teacher thinks about it...

Message: Don't drink and drive. And don't say you aren't satisfied with the work you did a month ago because it's a hell of a lot harder to replicate it when you don't remember where you left your props ONE MONTH AGO.

How we did it: Penelope and I set up a mirror on top of a table and folded a white sheet of paper to use as the white background. The paper extended a bit onto the mirror, but I thought it would look cool so I kept it. The paper became saturated after many, many trials which is why it's that color. Penelope dropped the car, I snapped the picture and there's the result.
